After both my classes (my second one got out early!) I went and ate a big lunch at The Crossroads; big enough that I took half home for dinner. I did stuff until 2, when there was a presentation by a social media guy. After the presentation I had a brief meeting with my web design teacher, who has hired me as his secretary for 10 hours a week at minimum wage! I start work tomorrow :)
Leaving the meeting, I realized I didn't have my coat with me (with all my keys in the pocket...). I remembered exactly the last time and place I'd had it with me, so I went and looked, but alas and alack, no coat. I tried two different lost and founds, with no luck. I went to the convenience store in the bookstore and bought 8 Reese's cups for $2.50 as consolation. I was just started to plan out how I'd be able to do all my homework on my laptop (which was luckily in my backpack, not locked in my bedroom), sleep on the couch in the living room in my current t-shirt and the PJ pants I had in my backpack (sewing project), and borrow clothes for school tomorrow from one of my roommates, I remembered that I'd put my coat in my locker along with my lunch leftovers. Oops. But hallelujah! My excuse is that I hadn't used my locker in a couple weeks, so I didn't really remember its existence.
Once I got home I showered (I'd only had time for my hair this morning), then met Mel's friend Andy who's come up for the weekend from Texas. We three drove out to Idaho Falls for a brief grocery trip. I bought 5 pounds of flour and a gallon of milk for $3.52. Now I've just got a little bit of homework to do.
Sounds like a great day - congratulations on finding your keys. Also congratulations on the job! That will help with the spending money. . . . (for all the baking projects). Mama was glad you got some sleep (and found your coat) (but wondered if you got some breakfast).
ReplyDeleteReeses - that reminds me, I'm hungry!
I missed breakfast, hence the big lunch. Pff, the baking stuff is cheap, the only thing I've run out of so far is flour, and I can get that at Winco, $1.50 for 5 pounds.
ReplyDeleteLucky you! Mama still wants your head for that excursion to Colorado. She also says that the trip to Colorado is longer than the trip here, so she really is starting to wonder if you like your family anymore.
ReplyDeleteIf someone'd been driving out to Spokane, I would've gone with them, but I don't exactly have my own car to use. Mel may drive me to Spokane for Memorial Day weekend (that was supposed to be a surprise, but since you guys are getting huffy I guess I'll spoil it).
