Dinner Party

We had about 20 people at our apartment for Sunday evening dinner, so all of us were cooking for about 4 hours. Melanie was the one holding and planning it, so we just bustled around the kitchen doing what she said needed doing. I peeled and diced onions and garlic, diced tomatoes, peeled potatoes, mixed potato salad, grated a whole block of cheese, stirred various pots, washed dishes, and, of course, did taste tests. I now know a great recipe for fruit salad :) All in all, we had the fruit salad, regular salad, potato salad, baked mac and cheese pie, caribbean jerk chicken (two kinds), rice, a lentil dish, and cheesecake with fresh strawberry topping. The guys wouldn't let us do the dishes, they cleaned everything up for us afterwards, which was so nice.

It's positively tropical today, with a high of 33* and sunshine! I actually unzipped my coat walking home and took off the mitten part of my gloves. I learned how to count in and convert between base 10 (decimal), base 5, base 2 (binary), and base 16 (hexadecimal) number systems in my CIT fundamentals class; I've got to go do the homework now.
