I've had all six of my classes now. Yesterday in networking, Bro Armstrong said that the class will be a bit like learning a foreign language, because of all the new terms we'll have to remember. In web design, Bro Robertson said that the class will be like learning four new languages, because we'll be learning HTML, XHTML, CSS, and some PHP coding. Luckily I already know half of it. I'm hoping to hitch a ride with Nicole on Saturday to Idaho Falls to pick up supplies for my sewing class; the book Sis Blakely wants isn't in the BYUI bookstore, so I'll probably order that off of Amazon. My CIT Fundamentals class is about as big as my bedroom, and with roughly 30 students, which means it's just slightly crowded in their. I've got to shuttle to the roundabout at some point to pick up a second book for that class. My home and family management teacher reminds me slightly of Prof. Umbridge (not naming names, and I hope she doesn't read this blog...) My last class was intro to architecture, where Sis Nelson had us get to know one another most of the class, and handed out the syllabus. The girl sitting next to me is Kendra (another Kendra, not my roommate). I had to go and buy a $20 supply kit for that class today.
Had lunch at the Crossroads (okay, it was 10 o'clock), and I just got myself a big slice of pizza. When I was almost done, a girl came over from the Rexburg Standard Journal and interviewed me about Pres Clark's devotional yesterday. I let her record me so she wouldn't have to scribble like a madman (I know how that is), and what I said probably mostly consisted of 'like's and 'um's, though I didn't notice myself saying them. Got some of my homework done while my laptop battery ran down (no plugs nearby).
Walked home again because I'd bought stuff after class and consequently missed the shuttle by ten minutes, and the next one wasn't for another hour or so. I'll have to time this better in the future. Got the mail; so far everything we've gotten is for former occupants- what do you suggest we do with it? Throw it away? Try to get a forwarding address? Open it? (not really).
Just after I got home, Madeleine and Melanie showed up, having just gone on a $20 shopping spree for our apartment. The living room needed some sprucing up, so they bought pictures and things to put on the walls, and a couple knickknacks. Our roommate who's coming next week, Jenae, is bringing a TV. I used my toolkit to affix some beaded chain stuff in a clump to the ceiling.
At 6 tonight I've got a mandatory apartment orientation meeting, so between now and then I'm going to see if there's anything I can do homework-wise, and probably make myself some food. I need to go shopping soon (probably Friday/Saturday); the only thing I'm almost out of though is milk, which I can buy at the Crossroads if I need to (going to do some price comparisons first).
For the mail, I suppose you could check the office to see if they moved somewhere in the same complex. Otherwise, just mark it "Moved - not at this address" and put it in the outgoing mail slot.
ReplyDeleteAlbertsons charged 2.59 for 1 gallon of 2% milk.
Mama says just to hand the mail in at the office and let them deal with it. . . .
